Delivery was longer than quoted which is annoying because I chose this place based on the quick delivery time. 10-25 minutes turned into 45+ minutes. Called restaurant after 30 minutes and they said the delivery guy was just leaving restaurant. Still waiting.

Pretty sick

Yellowtail roll and tuna roll were very fishy tasting. Had to soak them in soy sauce to make them edible. Would rather pay an extra 5 dollars for a sushi place I know will be delicious.

Fish was fresh and flavorful. Had the chirashi

Bad ramen.

Last time I ordered sushi from Kumo not only did I not receive all of the sushi I had ordered, but the sushi was poorly made and small and the fish was not very fresh. Such a shame because their $1 sushi deal is so great.

Although I have ordered before from this restaurant without problem, my last order gave me horrible, horrible food poisoning!

worst Ramen I have ever had

Consistently fresh fish, with fast delivery. And they never get the order wrong, even when it gets complicated. Nothing outstanding, but for inexpensive delivery sushi it can't be beat in this neighborhood.

OK food but does not deliver on time

This place is quite good!

Ordered a dinner box with sashimi and shrimp tempura. Food came quickly, fish was fresh, and everything was tasty. And it was A LOT of food for the money - nice that you can choose 2 entrees.

I always wanted to go to Japan but I did not even have to leave my couch. Kumo brought Japan right to my living room and I enjoyed every bite. The chicken teriyaki is amazing and they have some of the best salmon I have tried from a take out restaurant. They are the best Japanese delivery in the city hands down.

Horrible. There was no lobster in the lobster roll, but plenty of mayonnaise (??) which was not included in the description.

Without a doubt the best takeout sushi on seamless. I've ordered sushi quite a few times from various places, and time and time again what shows up at my door is the most pathetic excuse for a dinner ever. I've paid nearly $20 for 2 regular rolls from a different restaurant and it showed up in box the side of my palm and couldn't even be considered a snack. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. They have great deals (3 rolls for $10 or 2 special rolls for $15!!) and the sushi is bomb. Good size, good amount and good price. Don't waste your time with any other takeout sushi on the east side, you'll only end up angry, broke and still hungry.

Excellent sushi for the money. Got any three rolls for 10.50 - spicy tuna with crunch and salmon tempura are amazing. Six pieces of each so I got 18 pieces for the price. Delivery came on time with no errors. Definitely will order again!

I ordered my food over an hour ago and still have not gotten it. Called twice and finally found out that the driver can't find the building. Never order from this place again....don't know about the food as I still have not gotten my order. It doesn't really even deserve a single star.

Good value. Fresh fish at good prices. Not out of this world or avant garde but a great reliable source for solid sushi every time.

The food was decent, not amazing. Some of the sushi was a little soggy, but the fish tasted good. But definitely much better for the price than comparable sushi places in the area!

takes forever. unapologetic. they should simply update their delivery time to an hour or more.

Really bland sushi, and not cheaper than the many better options.

Great price ($1/sushi and the $9/three rolls), the rolls were really tasty and packed with ingredients. Fast delivery. Liked it very much.. will order from here again for sure.

I put in an order at 8:09pm. Status said food was coming in about 10-25 minutes. It's almost an hour later--it is 9:05pm and the food is still NOT here. I called Kumo at 8:40pm and was told the delivery guy had left already and the food was on the way. I called again at 8:55pm and talked to the same guy. And guess what? I found out that he had LIED to me--the order hadn't left yet. He lied to me during the first phone call and did not apologize when he admitted that he had lied. The guy did not apologize or offer for free food. Too bad the tip is already charged. I will never order from them again. Ever.

The quality in their sushi is pretty good for the price you are paying. I mean, $1 per sushi is the best deal around this neighborhood..

Horrible. The worst sushi I've ever had in the East Village. The order of Shrimp Tempura only came with 2 pieces of shrimp tempura and they weren't even cooked. Inedible.
Posted a year ago by Shaina W.
the miso soup was ok and so was the salmon sushi (although a tiny portion). the ikura was not fresh and the salmon skin rolls were so inedible i couldn't even swallow one. would not order from here again

Always very fresh, fast, and accommodating to special requests. My go-to sushi place in the East Village. The three rolls for $10 is pretty much the best kept secret.

KUMO SUSHI always gets the order wrong! They never bring two chopsticks and forget sauces. My order is constantly missing something. I am not ordering from here anymore. The food is mediocre the service is not friendly. Good luck talking to them on the phone. TRUST ME!

Always reliable and fast. Food arrives in great condition, whether it's sushi, maki, or noodles.

Decent sushi. Got the three rolls for 10 deal, was fairly tasty and of better quality than other sushi at that price. All things considered, if I'm in the mood for good sushi and I'm not looking to spend a lot of dough, this is the place I'll go to.

Decent sushi but I'm starting to get annoyed with how much they mess up my order- they almost always forget the miso soup or give me the wrong rolls.

Consistently great food, always reliable delivery and, of course, a great price! I order delivery from this place at least once a week.

Great quality sushi. Quick delivery but I can't rate it on that because I'm only about 2.5 blocks away. Still, great sushi & a great deal too, 10 dollars for 3 different rolls, awesome. Update as of 5/11/2011: Still ordering from this place. My new favorite roll is the Sexy Roll. Combination of pretty much everything albiet a little expensive unfortunately. Still a solid 5 stars from me.

Really good quality sushi at a super cheap price ($1 per piece?!). They deliver insanely fast, too.

I've ordered from this place a few times because its so close to me and the pricing is decent. Usually its pretty decent/good, but nothing more. Not good enough to actually go and eat dinner there or anything. Today I ordered a lunch special, and am very disappointed. I got the tri-color sushi lunch special for 8.95, which came with 6 pieces of sashumi, a california roll, and a small miso soup. I could not eat the miso soup due to a strong scent which i could not handle and grossed me out (usually I love miso soup). And the actual sushi was not fresh at all, it was comparable to pre maid grocery store quality. Not only that, the california roll was only 6 pieces!! and extremely tiny. The amount of food would not have been such a disappoint if it was worth the quality. I am sorry to say I feel truly ripped off. I have eaten better sushi at a grocery store! That isn't going to cut it for the price and coming from a restaurant, I am sorry. Sadly, this will cause me to never eat here again. I know this is NYC but sushi places need to realize if the don't focus on quality they're only gonna have to rely on tourism, for which you really need the right location!

Been eating here nearly each week since it opened, it's AWESOME. I highly recommend the plum wine and pick 3 (rolls) for 9.95 deal.
